ATEYAPI
Fatherhood Mentoring

(605) 343-8762

The Ateyapi Project matches sober adult role models with at risk youth of both sexes. The mentors use Red Road Approach to sobriety principles to teach Native American youth to be proud to be Lakota, drug free and to stay in school.

ATE Mentors are recruited for their cultural knowledge and are asked to provide in-school tutoring, talking circles, after school and evening alternative activities for gang-prone youth. The ATEYAPI Project is currently funded by the office of population affairs to teach sexual abstinence to teen males ages 12-19.
